G-town Radio strives to present diverse programming that can't be found on mainstream media outlets.  Our current shows are listed below.

Music Programming:

BPM (1st and 3rd Thursdays, 4-6 PM) Host Brendan McGeehan and his show BPM (Beats Per Minute) explores a wide range of styles, genres, sub-genres, and generally whatever musical flavor pleases the host that day. Frequent guests appear on the show, both in and outside of the music industry.

Fewsh (Sundays, 10-Noon) - Reade McCardell brings you 2 hours of...most everything (e.g., an eye-widening array of music, musings and other disturbances).

Gotta' Get Over The Hump (Wednesdays, 10-12 AM) - Join K. Gerard Bates, the Mysterious Traveller (aka K-JAM!!!), and Producer EEAZZY-E from 10PM to Midnight (ET) each Wednesday as they guide you over the hump with the very best in Classic Funk, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B and Progressive Jazz! We are "Inter-Radioactive"!!!

Hip Hop History (Thursdays, 9-11pm): Anton (AKA Sweetdoggggg) brings you two hour long focus on an aspect of Hip Hop.

International Vibrations (Sundays, 8-10 PM) - Mr. Melody plays an adult reggae mix of songs you haven't heard in a while from artists you love. Keeping you updated on musical happenings in and around the area. Interviews, new releases and new artists.

Life Grooves (2nd and 4th Fridays, 4-5 PM) - Suzanne Biemiller interviews someone who lives or works in Northwest Philadelphia as we hear their list of top 10 songs. By listening to the person's favorite songs, we will discover how the music reflects who they are and how they live their lives. Tune in for great musical surprises and engaging conversations with members of the NW Philadelphia community

Listen Up! (Wednesdays, 2-4 PM) - Join the enigmatic, music savant Tom Casetta as he guides you through the labyrinth of music shining a beacon on the unsung, should-be-sung, and will-be-sung recordings that clutter the maze's dusty corridors that crisscross time and continents. 

The Local Music Show (2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 7-9 PM) - Host Ryan Shatt introduces you to the sounds of the Philadelphia music scene.

PraisEluJAH (Saturdays, 10-Noon) - Hosts Brother D and Sister A spin every genre of music in GOD's kingdom from worship & praise to Neo soul & R&B. They keep you laughing, entertained and enlightened with segments on marriage and GOD's Word. And, if that wasn't enough, they bring you in-depth interviews with mainstream artists, indie artists and best-selling authors. It's PraisEluJAH Baby!!!

Reggae Surge (Saturdays, 9-10 PM) - DJ Surge and Supa Tang deliver the Reggae music masala hot sauce. Showcasing a spicy blend of reggae music with a global appeal, featuring DJ Surge bringing you the best of the best.

Skywave (Wednesdays, 6-7 PM) - Skywave rides the wind of your imagination; creating clouds of sound from the air that surrounds your mind. Throughout the journey to discover where the magic of sound exists in space, we'll explore how music and radio plays carve indelible pictures in our heads.

The Sunday Dinner Mix Tape (Sundays, 6-8 PM) Join host Joanna Wikander as she shakes out the contents of her vast CD and record collection onto your radio floor. She firmly believes Guitars should be fuzzy like cats, Singers should have gravel in the back of their throats, and song lyrics should consist of lots of Huh! Babies! and Yeahs! 

The Sunday Vibe (Sundays, 3-5 PM) -  Tune in Sundays from 3-5 PM to hear Jim Bear play the best new music on G-town Radio. You'll hear new songs and classic forgotten tracks as they are added to the G-town Radio library. Each week we'll also take a look back at pop's singular and silliest moments from the late 70's and early 80's with the K-tel Classic. All that and the occasional in-studio guest is quite a deal. 


Talk Programming:

Aging Well (1st and 3rd Thursdays, 8-9 am) Host Julie Rainbow talks about issues surrounding aging adults, their families and communities.

Democracy Now! (M-F Noon to 1pm) - A daily, global, independent news hour hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and Juan González. Reporting includes breaking daily news headlines and in-depth interviews with people on the front lines of the world’s most pressing issues.  On Democracy Now!, you’ll hear a diversity of voices speaking for themselves, providing a unique and sometimes provocative perspective on global events.

The (Not So) Hidden Agenda (Sundays, 5-6PM) - Host Stephanie Heck interviews local artists, authors, musicians, actors, politicians, professionals, and activists about their work in the local community and beyond.

The Missing Branch (Wednesdays, 1-2 PM) - Lawanda Horton Sauter and Henry Sauter have created a talk show that provides a forum to talk about issues like civic and community engagement doing a series of shows on a topic.

Planet Philadelphia (1st and 3rd Fridays, 4-5pm) A radio show about our environment – where we all live, work, and play – produced and hosted by Kay Wood. You will hear a mix of environmental news, interviews, music, poetry, and reporting on community events. Planet Philadelphia is for the many Philadelphians who care about our planet. There are a lot of important and interesting issues to explore – and this show is the place to do that.

The Power of Food 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 9-10am)

The Process with Kam (1st and 3rd Thursdays, 7-8 PM)

Stepping Into Tomorrow (Thursdays, 8-9 PM) - Gabriel Bryant fuses thoughtful dialogue about the issues that face everyday urban communities including Philadelphia, while highlighting those individuals or entities that make solutions possible. This show also features a music component, showcasing artists both local and on a national level, whose work provides a voice for change and societal uplift.

Thomas and Thomas (Fridays, 9-10 AM) - Kris Thomas and Jamal Thomas talk local and national sports.

WRLG (Thursday 12am -1am, 1pm -4pm, Friday 1pm-4pm, Saturday 12-3pm) - Programming created and curated by Germantown Community Radio Partner WRLG, a licensee of the Germantown Life Enrichment Center.

WRGU (Thursday 10am -1pm, Friday 12am -1am, 10am -1pm, Sunday 12-3pm) -Programming created and curated by Germantown Community Radio Partner WRGU, a licensee of the Germantown United Community Development Corporation.

JazzHands - Move into the waking hours with classic jazz, mellow pop and downtempo beats.

The Sunday Vibe - G-town Radio takes on a mellower, funkier vibe ideal for whatever you do and where ever you go. Each Sunday tune in and vibe out.

The Funkstables - Regain your funky equilibrium with classic funk, electronic tinged beats, 70's fusion and a little bit of soul.

The G-town Playlists - These three playlists (G-town Player, G-town Evenings and G-town Late Nights) pull files from deep inside the vast G-town music library (over 7500 tracks in regular rotation). Be prepared for anything.
