Karen Clay is a professor of Economics and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon as well as an affiliated faculty member at University of Pittsburgh Law School. She will be talking about her research on the effects of pollution during the 1918 Spanish Flu and its implications for today’s pandemic.
Christine Knapp isthe Director of Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability. She will discuss the City’s plans to cope with heat stress in the summer months (a growing concern as the climate warms up) in the era of Covid-19 when congestion and crowding might worsen the pandemic.
