Water now and in the future - Planet Philadelphia 4-5 pm today Print E-mail

Water in times of climate crisis; How we treat our water resources will determine our health and the health of the planet. 



Carol Collier, Senior Advisor for Watershed Management and Policy at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. She served for more than 15 years as executive director of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) before joining the Academy. She will be talking about the environmental issues affecting the Delaware River basin and how these are being addressed to protect our water and the environment.
Temple University professors Dr. Merián Soto and Dr. Fletcher Chmara-Huff will talk about global water issues, and about OASIS, a celebration of World Water Day to be held on 3/22 starting at 1pm. This is a daylong educational symposium and dance presentation by Temple dance students, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability and the Department of Geography and Urban Studies at Temple University. Some of the participating students may be joining in this live interview.
