Tim Bennett will talk about food waste, one of the more significant contributors to environmental degradation and greenhouse gas emissions.  Tim founded Bennett Compost in 2009 with $100 and a frustration over the lack of composting options in his South Philly neighborhood. Today, Bennett Compost is one of the largest, private residential composting companies in the Northeast collecting food scraps from over 2200 households weekly.

Sharon Pillar, Consultant for Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) a national nonpartisan organization that advocates for smart policies that are good for boththe environment and the economy, will talk with us about the recently released Clean Jobs PA report. She will discuss the prospects for clean energy jobs in PA and how our state ranks in relationship to other states in this area.

Planet Philadelphia is an environmental radio show produced and hosted by Kay Wood along with assistance from reporter Linda Rosenwein, 4:00-5:00 p.m. the first and third Friday every month. Shows aired live will be available as podcasts shortly after they broadcast.
