(1st and 3rd Wednesdays)
Tune in the 1st and 3rd Wednesday as DJ Philly Dave highlights an album & the band/artist, putting the lp & artist in historical perspective. What was going on in the rock n' roll world when this was recorded & came out? Where was the artist/band in their career? What lead up to it & where did it lead? What was the recording of this record like? So, why does this record/artist matter on a macro & micro level in the world of rock n' roll? I'll play all the tunes & b-sides & if possible, outtakes from the sessions. The 2nd week's show will feature bands of the same ilk, of the same time. Also, the music that influenced the record including original versions of covers recorded or performed live then. And bands & artists influenced since the release of the record- why it matters, 'cause hey, it does.
