We begin with a script from Fibber McGee and Molly. 1st broadcast 1945, "Fibber Paints A Xmas Tree" is a typical treatment of the husband trying to save $ on the holidays by painting his own xmas tree...until a scene at the end that shows the merits of being a miser. Bah, humbug, you say? Then wait til you hear a tickler from Vic And Sade. Originally aired 1943, "Xmas Cards" considers a terrible misprint concerning one of the Gook family on a xmas card. Will son Rush find out? And how can visiting aunt Flora extricate Vic And Sade from this potentially season-spoiling situation. Good eve. Welcome to Skywave for more live radio plays. We begin with a duo of shorts from the master of the ten minute tale- John McDonnell. First up, "Pep Talk Man" from 2017. It seems that Ralph can't get out of bed until Pep Talk Man arrives with super powers to cure Ralph. But is this a test beyond heroic capabilities? Our 2nd McDonnell entry is "Always Ask A Princess" from 2017, which is a kind of modern fractured fairy tale with a twisted moral. And we conclude with a chiller from the Quiet Please series. Originally aired 1948, "12 To 5" brings us to a radio station, where a mysterious DJ appears on DJ Connie's show and and predicts tragic events.  How  does this bode fro Connie? Well here to keep you guessing are playwright John McDonnell, Nyi Lunsford, Gary Mitchell, and your host, Andy Pettit.

We begin with an episode from the detective series Let George Do It.  1st broadcast 1949, "Lady In Distress" considers the world of evening entertainment via the strong arm of racketeers who give wayward ladies an opportunity to trade on their physical charms, but who is this showgirl Chickie who seems a little too clueless. We continue with another detective story from the Dick Tracy series. Originally aired 1938, "Pat Hypnotized" brings us back to the underground world, but not the one that trades on the sweat of flesh, but the foul odor of forgery; another fine art. But does hypnosis figure into the plot? Well, here to keep you in suspense are voice actors Shelli Pentimall-Booker, Stephen Medvidick and Aaron Roberge along with your host Andy Pettit.

And we finish with a funny monologue from the Fleischmann's series "Miss Tithinwither at the Prize Fight", which takes a surprising turn as Miss T. delivers her protest. Welcome to Skywave for more radio play action. We have three terrific tales for you. In reverse order, we end with a creepy episode from the sci fi series X Minus 1. 1st broadcast 1956, "Hostess" concerns an investigation by a doctor from another planet performing research. But when agent Drake learns that biologist wife is harboring the doctor who has an ulterior motive, how safe will earth be? On the lighter side, we have 2 pieces from guest playwright John McDonnell. We begin with "Just Fire Me". Cindy Kindle, a low level demon, has been called for a meeting with Ashton Pepper, sale manager in Hell. It seems Cindy has not been meeting her quota lately for condemned souls. She explains that she's burned out and needs a break. But are these breaks in hell? Will Cindy get her vacation? And we conclude with "Punishment Card". Mr. Williams, shopper at Tidy Stores, has earned punishment points because he has been shopping at a competing store. He is called to the managers's office to discuss the situation with Alf Sledgecock, the punishment manager, who strikes fear in his heart when he describes what the punishment will be. and here to reward you for listening are regular voices Nyi Lunsford, Gary Mitchell, John McDonnell and your host, Andy Petttit.
