Stepping Into Tomorrow fuses thoughtful dialogue about the issues that face everyday urban communities including Philadelphia, while highlighting those individuals or entities that make solutions possible. This show also features a music component, showcasing artists both local and on a national level, whose work provides a voice for change and societal uplift.

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow this evening at 8PM, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with Ethepoetemcee Muhammad, Founder and Director of this coming Saturday's Hustler of Culture Black Arts Expo! Themed, "Don't Touch My Hair," this third edition of the expo series is focusing on "celebrating the sacredness of Black women." Featuring interactive workshops, networking, vendors, cultural activities and a special live concert, this is an event you won't want to miss! Gabriel will also speak with Jack Drummond, Director of the Mayor's Office for Black Male Engagement, who will be discussing their upcoming monthly Community Conversation, this time focusing on Health and Wellness, and happening next Wednesday, March 22 5:30-7:30pm at the Community College of Philadelphia (Winnet Student Life Bldg). These conversations provide a platform for community members "to discuss challenges, opportunities and solutions that address dismantling inequities that impact the lives of men and boys of color in the city." Tune in this evening to Stepping Into Tomorrow, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with author, Dr. Kelli Sparrow Mickens, author of the just released book "Philadelphia Freedom Schools." Dr. Mickens, a servant leader in community based and school based education since the 1990's, will talk about this ground breaking piece of literature, which is equal parts history and blueprint about the historic and contemporary manifestation of Freedom Schools in Philadelphia. Having served in several capacities in Philadelphia Freedom Schools, this book must be added to anyone's home library interested in the fusion of education, culture and liberation for our young people!

Tune in at 8:00PM this evening as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with representatives from several organizations working to expose and find solution to the water crisis happening at West Philly High School. Since at least December 2016 when it was first reported, the school - whose current new building itself is only 6 years old - has reported having yellow and brown water, resulting this month in a series of community meetings at the school between concerned parents/guardians and the water dept., school district, elected officials and Environmental Protection Agency. Listen tonight to hear more information and next steps!

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with Brothers Oba and Farugh, organizers of the annual Afrakan Independence Day celebration.  They will be discussing their First Annual "Black Love Akoma Day Symposium: Black Love on the Rise," which will be moderated by Brother Montsho and his wife Sis. Nwasha Edu, authors and creators of the Akoma Day holiday which is celebrated in 13 countries. Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with a member of Black Lives Matter - Philadelphia to discuss today's protests in Center City in response to Trump's visit to Philadelphia. They will discuss the heightened level of activity and actions happening nationwide since the presidential election.  Gabriel also will speak with Sis. Asantewaa Nkrumah-Ture, an organizer on this Saturday's Fidel tribute happening at the historic Church of the Advocate.  Just a couple of months since Cuban leader Fidel Castro made transition, she will explain how this program will highlight the important lessons and work accomplished under Castro and what his leadership meant for worldwide liberation and justice!

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow, this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with representatives from the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM) Philly chapter to discuss Friday's event - Ungovernable Philly 2017!  Framed as a launch and call for Black Unity and coalition building for self-determination, this rally and community speakout - happening on the same day as the inauguration - hopes to build a United Black Front around several issues, including "Black Land Liberation," "Black Led Community Schools," and "Free Political Prisoners" among others. Listen in as they discuss how this can serve as a strategic jumping off point for community mobilizing and organizing efforts across the city!

Tune in this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant of Stepping Into Tomorrow speaks with Rev. Mark Tyler, Pastor at Mother Bethel A.M.E. church and organizer with P.O.W.E.R., to discuss this Monday's MLK DARE March, the organization's second in two years designed to raise community and national issues evoking the more radical spirit of Martin Luther King. They will discuss how the election of Trump and still necessary socio-political remedies for Black, Brown and poor people are at the forefront of their objectives. Gabriel will also speak with an organizer with the Campaign to Bring Mumia Home regarding last week's decisive ruling by Judge Mariani declaring that the Department of Corrections must provide political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal with medical treatment for his Hepatitis C, a struggle for activists in the Campaign for the past two years. They will discuss what this means for Mumia and additionally the 7,000 people who are incarcerated in PA who have untreated Hep C as well!
