Stepping Into Tomorrow fuses thoughtful dialogue about the issues that face everyday urban communities including Philadelphia, while highlighting those individuals or entities that make solutions possible. This show also features a music component, showcasing artists both local and on a national level, whose work provides a voice for change and societal uplift.

They will discuss the long road to her freedom, including 40 years of incarceration, and what steps are forthcoming as they plan for the 40 year anniversary of the Powelton Village confrontation activities in August of this year!

Gabriel also will provide an update on today's violent raid on the Occupy ICE encampment and why activists are still working toward true justice and the dismantling of anti-immigrant policies and institutions!

A compelling and powerful read, Dr. Perry "uses "Life Every Voice and Sing" as a windo on the powerful ways African Americans have used music and culture to organize, mourn, challenge and celebrate for more than a century." Listen in as she shares her decision to write this book and how it fits into the larger conversation about liberation for Black people in this country.

Bringing phenomenal talent to the stage, activists and artists alike will be touching on these issues in a night full of information and entertainment. Performer and singer Taina Asili will also be joining the conversation, to discuss her art and why she continues to bring voice to messages of liberation through her music!
