This show also features a music component, showcasing artists both local and on a national level, whose work provides a voice for change and societal uplift.

This year's theme is "Celebrating Black eXcellence." Listen in as they discuss what will be happening during the day, including speakers, artists, a children's pavilion and a health pavilion. Reuben also will talk about the #CloseTheCreek campaign, which is organizing to close the House of Corrections, the oldest jail in the City of Philadelphia!

A compelling and powerful read, Dr. Perry "uses "Life Every Voice and Sing" as a windo on the powerful ways African Americans have used music and culture to organize, mourn, challenge and celebrate for more than a century." Listen in as she shares her decision to write this book and how it fits into the larger conversation about liberation for Black people in this country.

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with Mike Africa, with Conscious Minds Talent and the MOVE family, who will be discussing this Saturday's "One Heartbeat" benefit concert to bring support and resources to those still struggling in the wake of the hurricane in Puerto Rico last fall, and those MOVE members who have been incarcerated for 40 years now. Bringing phenomenal talent to the stage, activists and artists alike will be touching on these issues in a night full of information and entertainment. Performer and singer Taina Asili will also be joining the conversation, to discuss her art and why she continues to bring voice to messages of liberation through her music!

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow, this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant speaks with educator and filmmaker, Nuala Cabral, along with young people from the youth group, POPPYN (Presenting Our Perspective on Philly Youth News). They will be discussing their upcoming trip to South Africa next month, where they will build with several youth groups on the continent and produce short film projects focusing on youth power and organizing and the need for youth to cross borders throughout the diaspora. They will also share how you can support their fundraiser and provide a donation towards their trip!

Additionally, Gabriel will speak with Ginger Smith, who is coordinating the "Welcome to Wakanda" marketplace slated for Saturday, March 31, at The Pike Banquet Hall, 7:00-11:00PM! This African inspired marketplace is highlights local Black artists and business owners as well as celebrates art, culture and community! There will be African drumming, massages, live performances, vendors and more!

Tune in to Stepping Into Tomorrow, this evening at 8:00PM, as host Gabriel Bryant highlights the need for discussions around mental health in the Black community. He will speak with educator and counselor, Shesheena Bray, who will be discussing therapeutic services through her business, Going Inward Wellness, LLC! She will talk about what programs she has in the community (including at the Institute of Contemporary Art) and why it's critical to maintain one's wellness. Additionally, Gabriel will meet with professor and national race expert, Chad Lassiter along with clinician and artist, Darin Toliver of the Black Men at Penn, an organization coming out of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice. They will discuss the work that they have done for years to support young men of color, including a new initiative that began recently at Cheltenham High School.
