Multi-instrumentalist/composer Dan Peterson will be in the studio to talk about his song cycle "5 Simple Worlds... And Ways Of Getting There" and share some of the music that inspired him as he was working on this deeply personal series of compositions.

Feldie will play plenty of Lucky Old Souls music, too, including tracks from Faye Adams, Chuck Berry, Lester Bowie, Abbey Lincoln, and more.

There are two opportunities to hear Dan perform "5 Simple Worlds..." this week: Wednesday night at Tritone with a trio and, perhaps, some special guests; and at Friday night's CD release celebration at Settlement Music School, with the full 11-piece ensemble, including Matt Davis, Pannan Wophill, and Larry Toft.

Feldie will be joined in the studio today by jazz vocalist Venissa Santi, who will talk about her music and share selections from her Desert Island 5--the five albums she'd take with her if she were stranded on a desert island.  Venissa's vocal style is rooted in the jazz tradition, but her repertoire includes a wide range of material--new arrangements of standards, songs from her parents' homeland of Cuba, original compositions, and more. 

During the first part of the show, you'll hear plenty of the usual Lucky Old Souls fare, from Archie Shepp, Wynonie Harris, and more.
