Lucky Old Souls

Every Tuesday at 2 p.m., Feldie brings you two hours of the hottest, swingin-est jazz and R&B tracks from back in the day... and I mean back in the day, as in 50, 60, 70+ years ago. That's right... The best jazz, pop standards, blues of all kinds, early rock & roll, songs that were hits, and songs that should have been hits. We're not nostalgic--we just know that music transcends time... and a hit is a hit.

Read more about your host here. You can reach Feldie anytime at feldie@gtownradio.com.

HOUR 1: If you listen to old jazz records and go out to hear live jazz a lot, you've probably noticed that there are certain standards that you hear musicians play all the time and others that you hear on your old records but rarely if ever hear live.  Today's show will feature a new segment spotlighting some of these rarely heard standards.  Kicking it off will be Cole Porter's "I Concentrate On You" and Oscar Hammerstein & Sigmund Romberg's "Lover Come Back To Me." Plenty of other great jazz and rhythm & blues too...

HOUR 2: UNCLE SAM'S VINYL: Jazz LPs from the late '60s and '70s.  This week's albums: Marcus Belgrave's Gemini II (Tribe, 1975) and Dexter Gordon's Ca'Purange (Prestige, 1973).
