Soul Junction returns with a fresh batch of new records from the WFMU Record Fair, the largest vinyl show on the east coast.  This means there are all kinds of new scores to bring your way, including music from Alice Coltrane, George Duke and the biggest score of the weekend, Masabumi Kikuchi's Poo-Sun!  Fear not, we aren't done with the new Mayer Hawthorne yet.  And...a European electric jazz set is cued and ready, including music from Finland's Matti Oiling, Germany's Kuhn Brothers & The Mad Rockers, Sweden's Jukka Tolonen and Italy's I Marc 4.

Scenes from the Revolution (10/1/2011) Print E-mail

Ed, Len and George

G-town Radio ambitiously programmed six hours of remote broadcasting from two different locations as we covered the Revolutionary Germantown Festival this past Saturday. From noon to 3 PM G-town Radio programmers Ed Feldman (Morning Feed), Len 'Cruze' Webb (Black Tribbles), T & Z (Queer 2 the T) were live at the Battle of Germantown at Cliveden. We captured the sounds of battle, talked to visitors and got exclusive interviews with Gen. Washington and other battle participants.

We closed out the day down the road at the historic Grumblethorpe House for an American Oktoberfest. Dr. Ranztron of Soul Junction kept the party funky while families enjoyed the gardens, food and beer (well, 21+ kids). See more pictures of the day's events below.
